ABPA releases guide with guidance on GHG management

The Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA) released through its ABPA Program to Incentive Sustainable Practices, a guide that deals with the management of Greenhouse Gases (GHG) within the scope of agro-industries and poultry pork producers in Brazil.

Produced with the support of Flos Ambiental, the guide presents information for a basic understanding of what GHGs are, the National Climate Change Policy, Decree No. 11,075 (which establishes the Sectoral Climate Change Mitigation Plans and establishes the National Reduction of GHG Emissions), among other points.
The guide guides, in an illustrative and detailed way, how to build an inventory of GHG emissions, with a scope established based on direct emissions, those of third parties and others that are not under the company’s responsibility.
Launched in the context of COP 27, the material is yet another action that seeks to reinforce, within the scope of the ABPA Program, the implementation of practices aligned with the sustainable management of the entire production chain, regardless of size and economic, social and economic impact. environment of the establishment.
“The ABPA Program seeks to encourage practices throughout the production chain, through guidance to producers and companies on measures and controls for sustainable development. The new guide has this purpose: to align the sector with Brazil’s expectations and goals in the area of sustainability”, said ABPA’s technical director, Sula Alves.
