Copacol: animal welfare is certified
From handling in the field to processes in the industry, Copacol is concerned with maintaining standardized procedures, guaranteeing the consumer a high quality product. To achieve good results, the Cooperative undergoes audits that ensure the correct work carried out daily. The most recent certification obtained was for animal welfare.
Verification of the requirements of the NCC standard (National Chicken Council – Conselho Nacional de Frangos, in Portuguese) was carried out both on the trucks that arrive with the birds until the slaughter process at the Industrial Unit, in Cafelândia. “We achieve excellent results in our products with respect for established quality standards and also respect for animal welfare and the environment. This concern is recognized by consumers, who, when choosing our product, know its origin. Care for the production of healthy food comes from the source, in the field, until it reaches the supermarket shelves”, says the CEO of Copacol, Valter Pitol.
With continued training, integrated producers are guided on correct management to ensure animal welfare. In addition, the technical team visits properties to check all procedures and the health of the creations. “This certification assures all our customers and consumers that we strictly follow national and international market standards, guaranteeing the quality and safety of food throughout the production system”, highlights Quality Manager, Márcia Ferrari.
From the production system in the field, through transportation to the industry, the most recent certification obtained by the Cooperative recognized correct welfare management. “Well-being procedures were already carried out daily at Copacol. This certification comes to validate the processes that the Cooperative has already been carrying out, offering comfort to the animals and ensuring greater quality in the final product”, says auditor Linette Goes.
