Vibra Foods Promotes the Circular Economy Through Partnership with eureciclo

Company expects to offset 278 metric tons of Nat-branded packaging this year through investments in the recycling value chain

One of Brazil’s largest poultry protein producers, Vibra Foods is advancing its sustainable development and social responsibility strategy by supporting the recycling value chain. In partnership with eureciclo, a platform that connects companies with waste picker cooperatives to enable the reverse logistics of packaging placed on the market, Vibra Foods will offset 278 metric tons of Nat-branded packaging throughout this year—an amount equivalent to the approximate weight of 278 compact cars.

The initiative is expected to benefit 47 cooperatives across Brazil’s South and Southeast regions, directing resources toward recycling and contributing to the achievement of reverse logistics targets through a traceable and audited model that also helps generate income for workers in the sector.

“This partnership is another example of how we are strengthening our commitment to initiatives focused on sustainability and preserving the future, while generating measurable results and positive impacts for society. This is how we turn purpose into concrete action, aligned with our mission to nourish lives and inspire a healthier future,” says Andrea Pozzebon Medeiros, Marketing Manager at Vibra Foods.

A commitment displayed on the packaging

As part of the initiative, Nat-branded packaging will now feature the eureciclo seal, a certification that highlights Vibra Foods’ investment in recycling and the circular economy. The seal is already featured on the new packaging of the Nat Pronto Já! product line, which recently underwent a design update, and will be expanded throughout the second half of the year to a significant portion of the brand’s portfolio, including the individually quick-frozen chicken line, Nat Verde, Nat Food Service, and fresh and seasoned cuts.

“Vibra Foods joining our network demonstrates how major brands can lead the transition toward an increasingly circular and inclusive economy. By directing resources straight to waste picker cooperatives, we are not only mitigating the environmental impact of packaging but also creating tangible value and income for those working at the frontline of Brazil’s recycling value chain,” says Ana Flavia Gomes, Partnerships Manager at eureciclo.

Joining eureciclo further strengthens Vibra Foods’ well-established track record in waste management as part of its social and environmental policy. Between 2016 and 2025, the company allocated more than BRL 600,000 to the Packaging Reverse Logistics Association (Aslore), supporting the development of recycling activities and the work of waste pickers.

In addition, the company continuously invests in improving its packaging materials. A reengineering project led by its Research and Development (R&D) department reduced plastic use by 35% without compromising the quality, safety, or technical performance of its packaging, which is currently 95% recyclable. The company also uses recycled raw materials in its secondary packaging, in compliance with applicable legislation.

About eureciclo

eureciclo is a circular economy platform that connects companies, operators, and cooperatives to enable packaging reverse logistics in Brazil. Through its environmental compensation model, it certifies the proper recovery and recycling of waste equivalent to the volume of packaging placed on the market, generating positive environmental and social impacts.

By displaying the eureciclo seal on their products, brands demonstrate their commitment to recycling and become part of an active community of 7,000 companies that turn this commitment into tangible impact throughout the value chain.

Since 2016, eureciclo has contributed to the proper recovery of 2 million metric tons of waste that would otherwise have been sent to landfills and open dumps. More than 16,000 families have benefited from BRL 136 million transferred to sorting centers, waste picker organizations, and partner operators. Recycling efforts have also prevented the emission of 4.1 million metric tons of CO₂.
