BRF certifies 100% of its slaughter units in animal welfare in Brazil

BRF, one of the largest food companies in the world, obtained 100% animal welfare certification in all poultry and pork slaughtering units in Brazil, through global protocols at BEA North America Meat Institute and National Chicken Council . The audits were conducted by professionals trained in the Professional Animal Auditor Certification Organization (PAACO) program, specialized in the topic.
With the result, BRF advances in its public commitment to certify 100% of its manufacturing units in animal welfare by 2025, bringing forward service in operations in Brazil, which reinforces its commitment to the standardization of processes and transparency with customers. The company also continues to advance in the certification of its international units.
“In the field, our production processes are continually checked and audited by both our customers and international entities. Among the certifications we hold in this area are the Global G.A.P seals for agricultural production and Certified Humane, for animal welfare”, explains Ivomar Oldoni, director of CIEX Agropecuária at BRF.
“The certification in all units reflects our ongoing commitment to the topic, working to positively transform the production chain, combining sustainability with the Company’s operations, with the support of our partners and integrated producers”, adds Raquel Ogando, director of Reputation and BRF Sustainability.
A pioneer in animal welfare, the Company has zero tolerance for animal abuse and is aligned with the best market practices, based on public commitments, protocols, training and team training, and continuous best practices in breeding and slaughter.
