Coasul and Ihara join forces in solidarity initiative to support vulnerable families in São João

Donation of food baskets highlights joint social commitment between the cooperative and agrochemical company

Agricultural cooperative Coasul and multinational agrochemical company Ihara partnered in a solidarity initiative aimed at supporting families in vulnerable situations in São João, Paraná. The action, carried out on December 12, 2024, resulted in the donation of 20 food baskets to the Pastoral da Solidariedade, an organization dedicated to social support for low-income communities in the region.

The initiative was part of Cultive, Ihara’s corporate social responsibility program, which promotes partnerships within the agribusiness sector. Through the program, Ihara donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to Coasul. These items were sold to cooperative members at a symbolic price, and the full amount raised was donated to local charitable institutions.

One of the beneficiaries was the Pastoral da Solidariedade, which provides ongoing support to underprivileged families through the distribution of food, hygiene products, clothing, and social assistance. The donation reinforces the valuable work carried out by the organization and underscores the commitment of both companies to the well-being of the communities in which they operate.

“This partnership with Ihara shows how cooperativism and corporate social responsibility can work hand in hand to directly benefit those who need it most,” said Coasul representatives during the donation event.

The Pastoral da Solidariedade continues to welcome donations. Contributions of food, hygiene products, or clothing can be delivered to the São João Batista Parish during business hours. Every donation helps and makes a real difference in the lives of many families.
