Frimesa’s environmental actions are recognized in favor of sustainable development
Frimesa received the Sesi ODS 2023 Seal on October 19th during the Sesi ODS 2023 Congress, held in Curitiba. Participating as a large company in the Environmental category with the Biogas Generation Complex at the Medianeira Refrigeration Unit, it was recognized as an institution that carries out projects related to the Sustainable Development Goals, thus contributing to achieving the global agenda.
The event is organized by the Social Service of Industry (Sesi) and debates the role of companies as articulators in the sustainable growth of Paraná, and evaluates business practices that comply with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations (UN). The initiative included the participation of industries and companies with branches in Paraná, and civil society organizations operating in one or more Brazilian states.
The certificate guarantees commitment to the cause (see the gallery below). According to the Good Practices Report in the Environmental category, the cooperative’s biogas project meets four of the 17 SDGs. They are Clean and Affordable Energy; Decent Work and Economic Growth; Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure; and Responsible Consumption and Production.
In the same category as Frimesa, another 45 industries registered their practices that directly impact the environment in reducing gas emissions, air and water pollution, conservation of forests and vegetation, efficiency of water and energy management, waste management and use of natural resources.
